AGENEX has participated in the exchange of experiences "ELECTRICITY MOBILITY IN THE EUROACE: Sustainable transport in rural areas" organized by Fundecyt-PCTEX and which is part of the activities of the EUROACELERA cross-border cooperation project, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER), EP-INTERREG VA Spain-Portugal (POCTEP), which promotes the development of the border areas of Spain and Portugal.

The population forecasts suggest that the percentage of urban population on the planet will approach 75% in 2050 and a large part of the mobility research efforts focus on this aspect. However, these studies highlight a just complementary reality.

What will happen with the rural environment? What alternatives can new technologies offer in mobility for a habitat so different from cities? Will it be possible to implement electric cars in an area of use so different? Does the rural environment have greater difficulties attracting investment to implement those infrastructures associated with electric mobility?

In this context, it has been developed a meeting for exchanging ideas, actions and initiatives to analyze the situation and perspectives of electric and sustainable mobility in rural areas. It has addressed the needs of infrastructures and regulations necessary to boost the sector, while at the same time it has reviewed both the technological innovations that are already present and those that are coming, all this identifying the advantages, challenges and business opportunities linked to the development of the market of the electric vehicle, sustainable mobility and the associated services.

AGENEX has presented its main works in this field, refering CISMOB as an innovative project for improving the implementation of regional policies and local mobility programmers by having a thorough understanding about the different transport-related impacts and the main vulnerabilities associated to different zones of the territory.
