This presentation on “Financing of landfill management projects through ERDF OP 2014-2020 Andalucia” was held at the thematic event focused on financial aspects of landfill management projects in Nicosia (Cyprus) on September 26th, 2018.
Germán Coca (Regional Government of Andalucia, Spain) explained the possibilities of the OP for landfill management projects in Andalucia. At this moment landfill management projects can be conducted under the priority 6.1.1 related to waste and 6.5.1 intervention on natural spaces; a budget of almost 36 million euro is allocated to these priorities. The budget is rather low but opportunities and synergies with the COCOON project and ITI Cádiz (with a potential landfill mining project) might stimulate landfill projects. In Andalucia are currently 76 landfills not adapted to the landfill directive, sealing of these landfills would cost about 40 million € for which European Funding is needed. It is clear that more ERDF funding are needed for this. You can find the presentation here.
