Inauguration of the first immersive station in Rhêmes-Notre-Dame on Friday 10th March at 6 pm
Friday 10th March the inauguration of the first Gran Paradiso VR - Nature and Culture Immersive Experience station will be held at the Gran Paradiso National Park visitor centre in Rhêmes-Notre-Dame, Aosta Valley (IT). Here, thanks to the latest-generation Meta Quest Pro visors, it will be possible to experience the thrill of the Via Ferrata Casimiro, a fixed rope route dedicated to Casimiro Thérisod, the first guide of Rhêmes Valley: metal cables, ladders, Tibetan bridges, in a very evocative and panoramic route over the valley below.
The inauguration is scheduled for 6 pm. Admission is free. On this occasion, visitors will be able to visit the Gran Paradiso National Park Visitor Centre for free.
The Gran Paradiso VR - Nature and Culture Immersive Experience stations, devised and created by Fondation Grand Paradis as part of the Interreg Europe Digitourism project and with the support of the Gran Paradiso National Park, allow visitors to enjoy virtual reality experiences while discovering the Gran Paradiso, with the dual aim of enhancing the natural, cultural and landscape elements and making even the most challenging experiences ("HARD-TO-REACH") accessible to all.
Surrounded by realistic and immersive virtual contexts, the visitors become the protagonists of the situations that unfold around them, from high-altitude ascents to via ferrata and the discovery of cultural sites in the territory. After that experience, they can decide which ones to turn into real occasions, thus planning their own holiday in Gran Paradiso.
The Gran Paradiso National Park Visitor Centre will be open every weekend in March (4-5; 11-12; 18-19; 25-26) at the following times: Saturday from 14.00 to 18.00, Sunday from 9.30 to 13.30.
