In the framework of the annual selection of the European Enterprise Promotion Awards (EEPA) on 9 September, the Atlantic Futures programme, an initiative of the Atlantic Cities, has been selected among the finalists in category 1: "Promoting Entrepreneurship". This Awards category, the most competitive of the "Creative Careers" Awards, aims to promote projects at European level that help to provide young people with transferable entrepreneurial skills, create an entrepreneurial ecosystem and formalise collaboration between researchers, investors and private companies, in order to increase the role of research in the creation of start-ups.

The Atlantic Futures Programme, developed by the Atlantic Cities in 2018, is a transnational programme offering young people opportunities to develop their entrepreneurial skills at European level.

The Atlantic Futures initiative also contributes to the objectives of the AYCH (Atlantic Youth Creative Hubs) project funded by the Interreg Atlantic Area programme. This project aims in particular to facilitate the careers of young people. The promotion of innovation and transfer to businesses dimension of this Atlantic Cities initiative is also linked to the ecoRIS3 project. Indeed, funded by the Interreg Europe programme, the ecoRIS3 project aims to integrate models and good practices in the implementation of RIS3.

Atlantic cities members interested in joining and replicating the Atlantic Futures programme are invited to contact our secretariat.
