The priority of measure support will be given for spin-off companies, one of whose founders is a scientific and research institution. "This measure has been led by the emergence of a dialogue with business, science and the Ministry of Education and Science. Lithuania was lack of the funding instruments that fill the niche between existing instruments, such as the "Innovation vouchers", which supports small business orders from science & research institutions and measures like "Intellect", which provides funding for large R&D projects. Therefore, the emergence of a such measure has been particularly welcome of the business and scientific communities. I have no doubt that this will be a great opportunity to realize their technological ideas together"- says Kęstutis Šetkus, Director of MITA. The measure is designed based on the MITA experience administering two programs - the High Technology Development of Lithuania and Industrial Biotechnology Development of Lithuania. During the three-year period (2011-2013) the program has achieved remarkable results: creation of 96 new products and 42 new technologies in Lithuania. New MITA measure is financed by the Lithuanian Ministry of Education and Science.
