Ecoris3 partners from many areas of the European Union are preparing for and looking forward to the project official kick off , taking place in San Sebastian on the 23rd.-24th. May. The meeting will be hosted by Ecoris3 Lead Partner Fomento de San Sebastian

Ecoris3 will concentrate on strengthening regional Innovation ecosystems in all of the participating regions. In particular itt will be assessing the strategic linkages between key regional actors, such as research and educational institutions, industry and enterprises, local and regional policymakers and development agencies. 

All of the participating regions will be establishing working groups consisting of a triple helix membership structure and  involving these influential players, when in comes to maximising levels of regional innovation, smart specialisation and connectivity.

Dr. Breda Kenny, representing Cork Institute of Technology, Ecoris3 Irish partner, is Head of the Hincks Centre for Entrepreneurship Excellence, has stressed the importance of research and higher educational institutions working closly and strategically with regional enterprises, entrepreneurs and the regional and local development agencies,  to maximise growth potential.

Much of the work at San Sebastian will be in getting project actions underway, which will closley examine how partner regions currently address and deliver their  innnovation strategies and how transregional cooperation via Ecoris3 can improve the Regional Innovation Systems in all partner regions.
