Occasion of the conference entitled „The Future of Urban Policy”, which gathered over 70 participants and was organized in Lublin as a part of the 4th EURE Partner Meeting, was used for public presentation of the Regional Report Lubelskie Voivodeship.
The Regional Project Expert briefly discussed individual chapters of the document, particularly focusing on conclusions derived from the implementation of the Integrated Territorial Investment (ITI) in the region and description of the policy instrument i.e. the Regional Urban Policy of the Lubelskie Voivodeship. This particular instrument is aimed to be improved using good practices and lessons learned during the implementation of the EURE project.
It should be emphasized that the above mentioned policy instrument, focused on the development of cities, is specified by the provisions of the Lubelskie Voivodeship Development Strategy. It further emphasizes the role of cities pointing to diversity, similarities and differences in challenges, potentials and opportunities. The instrument categorizes cities and identifies their possible development paths.
Within the Regional Report presentation, participants were also made familiar with the good practice indicated in the Report: Nature revitalization of the People's Park in Lublin located in the area of the Integrated Communication Center for the Lublin Functional Area. This project is a part of the ITI in the region and is thematically related to another project implemented in the frame of the ITI Lubelskie Functional Area - Green LFA, which concerns the development of green infrastructure (parks, gardens, etc.) in the municipalities neighbouring Lublin. Many participants of the event were representatives of regional stakeholders from the Lubelskie Region, so they were given a chance to pose questions related to the Report.
It was concluded that the Report will be of a great help in the process of developing an Action Plan.
