The 5th meeting within the EURE project - LV Action Plan – highlighted once more the fruitful cooperation between stakeholders of the Lubelskie region.
Representatives of small and medium-sized cities of Lubelskie from Lublin, Puławy, Biłgoraj, Tomaszów Lubelski, Kraśnik, Łuków, Lubartów and Hrubieszów participated in the latest meeting of the Local Stakeholder Group of the EURE project.
The online meeting, conducted by the employees of the Marshal's Office in Lublin, started with the presentation of a study visit in the Galician region of Spain, which is characterized by an exceptionally high involvement of the local community in urban projects. The representative of the City of Zamość, who participated in the meeting, shared his related, first -hand experiences and reflections. A promising study visit to Cyprus in May, which will focus on interesting solutions related to green and blue infrastructure in cities, has also been announced.
Centered, green and smart cities are the guiding principle of the Action Plan for Lubelskie Voivodeship, the main theme of the event. The proposal of the main action concerns the process of updating the document of the Regional Urban Policy of the Lubelskie Voivodeship, planned for this year. As part of the work on the new draft document, a series of meetings will be held and all local institutions interested in the future of urban policy in the region will be invited.
The meeting ended with a lively discussion on the current and future challenges faced by city authorities, including the issue of migrants. The invaluable value of cooperation and exchange of experiences was also emphasized, as well as the need to continue with future meetings to progress at addressing the issues concerning urban environment policies.
