The EURE team strongly believes in a bottom-up approach in overcoming the urban challenges defined in each territory. The collaboration with local stakeholder is key for defining the real needs and possible solutions. On the other hand, the EURE partners encourage the discussion with the Managing Authorities of the policy instruments addressed by the project.
On 11th March, in Madrid, the leading partner, Eixo Atlantico, held a meeting with the Spanish local stakeholders for the EURE project, as well as with the Managing Authority of its policy instrument.
The meeting had the objective of sharing the good practices visited and the analysis made about their potential use to improve the urban development tool. Eixo Atlantico also shared with the stakeholders the structure and working methodology agreed to develop the report about the Spanish policy instrument, gathering their inputs and committing their involvement in the preparation of this report.
As first conclusions, they show a great interest in all EURE themes and in know more about how in other instruments plan to integrate sustainable development issues in the future, what working lines plan and how they deal with smallest populations (less than 20.000 inhabitants).
Finally, Eixo Atlantico took the opportunity to inform about the next study visit to be held in Riga on 5th and 6th May, gathering the local stakeholders’ opinions and positions to be integrated into the meeting’s agenda.
