Bucharest-Ilfov Regional Development Agency (ADR-BI) is a regional body governed by public law having the strategic role of policy maker and main actor in the implementation of the regional development policies – correlated both with the objectives and general development priorities of Romania and with the European Union goals regarding social and economic cohesion.

Furthermore, ADR-BI is responsible for the elaboration of the Regional Development Plan – as main policy instrument – with the consultation of the socio-economic partners, aiming for economic development and balanced and sustainable social development of Bucharest-Ilfov Region, for the improvement of the international competitiveness of Romania and for lowering the economic and social gap between Romania and member states of the European Union. Consequence of these attributions is the fact that ADR-BI is Intermediate Body for the implementation of the Regional Operational Programme for Regional Development in Bucharest-Ilfov Region.
