Introduction

The 4° stakeholder group meeting was organized in Arezzo, at the Chamber of Commerce with the participation of female entrepreneurs and representatives of the Committee for Female Entrepreneurship, on the occasion of an event promoted by the PID (Digital Enterprise Point) for the promotion of the digitization of enterprises. In this event, the target was female entrepreneurship, which is why the Women’s Entrepreneurship Committee also intervened, with which considering the people involved we have considered useful to organize in the same day the stakeholders meeting of FEMINA

Summary

During the initial part of the meeting, the Director of the CCIIA Giuseppe Salvini spoke about the present and future commitment of the CCIAA in favour of women entrepreneurs and/or aspiring women, with reference to the tools available to the Chamber, such as vouchers for digitization and free training days.

Subsequently, the President of the IFE Committee Anna Lapini spoke about the activities promoted by the Committee, including the FEMINA project.

On the basis of the results and research carried out by FEMINA, some important findings have also been reported, such as the fact that in Arezzo 25% of businesses are women and that 1 in 4 can be considered innovative. She pointed out that static data show that where corporate governance includes women there are fewer failures and that more women employed in STEM will lead to an increase in GDP.

What the Committee intends to do is to claim the diversity of women and their added value but in order to do it's necessary to be trained and informed, above all, about the new opportunities that digitalization and the web, in general, can bring. In this regard, Ilaria Casagli emphasizes that thanks to projects such as FEMINA, which offer the opportunity to meet other European regions, that it is possible to get out of local context and draw inspiration from some valuable foreign experiences and to adapt them in our local context.

Then there is Francesca Meini of the Fondazione mondo digitale, a foundation of the Municipality of Rome that operates in Italy with various itinerant projects in favor of the digitalization of young people and in particular of women, in collaboration with important companies such as Facebook or Microsoft, bringing to witness women who have succeeded in realizing their own projects.

The discussion then involved the audience by asking the people involved to share their experiences and above all to demonstrate what are the obstacles they encounter and what would be desirable for institutional entities such as the Chamber of Commerce put at their disposal.

The people involved agreed on the bureaucratic difficulties and the difficulty of obtaining reliable and quick information on the start of business. Vouchers for business start-ups are considered very useful by public entities, Although it is stressed that these support instruments must be given a certain and short time, otherwise they risk becoming a slow-down and therefore unappealable.

Another thing much appreciated and of which has been missing is the usability of formative moments on specific topics concentrated in one or more days if possible free or however affordable.

It also stresses the importance of creating times like this where people can get to know each other and create a network of relationships, as well as direct knowledge of other people’s successful experiences as well as a source of inspiration, can be very useful to better address your project.

Conclusion

In conclusion, at the end of this meeting from the internal point of view the barriers that we have identified in our analysis are substantially confirmed and we collect the indications provided to use and better address towards needs concrete instruments and resources that the Chamber of Commerce can make available, that will substantiate the measures that we intend to define and support through the Action Plan of FEMINA.
