PP7 and PP9 organized a FEMINA dissemination event on 04/06/2019 in Santander, back-to-back to the periodic meeting of the stakeholder group.

Given the high interest in and attention to FEMINA topics at the regional and national level, the two partners considered useful to organize this event to disseminate intermediate results of FEMINA interregional and regional work to a wider regional/national audience and to attract new stakeholders to the local stakeholder group. The main aim of the event has been to put the project in the eye of gender issues stakeholders (regional and national) and to show the project as something to be incorporated into public policies within the autonomous region of Cantabria and hence to use the event as a public platform to spread the message nationally, with the active implication of the regional government and its top decision-makers for policies implementation.

The event gathered around 30 participants, from regional/national business support organizations, Universities, Governmental institutions, business sector, and other private organizations. The main aim of the lecturers’ profile was to highlight the importance of the FEMINA project within a regional and, most important, national scope related to gender issues: a representative of the National Ministry of Universities and Innovation and a good representation of the Regional government involved in the cross implementation of the gender issues in all the Government’s areas were present to discuss the future implications of the project. This way, the project has had an impact at a national level, most specifically in the National government scope. Another important stakeholder present at the event is the National Institute for Women Issues and Equal Opportunities. Both national representatives, National Ministry of Universities and Innovation and the Gender Issues national Ministry took the opportunity to know the importance of the project’s implementation, conclusions reached and they showed the willingness of future participation in the monitoring and implementation of regional policies as a reference to be able to replicate some actions taken at National level.

The workshop focused on the discussion of FEMINA results so far, both at the project level and at the regional level. It was also the occasion to discuss various regional/national initiatives that might be considered relevant for the project's development (e.g. the now FEMINA GP STEM Talent Girl) and the FEMINA Action Plan for Cantabria. Some best practices detected were discussed during the event and it was very useful to spread the word about the project’s potentialities: the main outcome of the event was to open the doors for cooperation with national initiatives and national stakeholders. They acknowledged the importance and relevance of the project’s main fields for development by detecting the possible fields of cooperation (regionally and nationally) and some ways of cooperation in order to disseminate some good results with the possibility to replicate best practices learned at a national level.

The event was extremely useful for PP7 and PP9 to strengthen and widen their local stakeholder group and to attract new regional and national level stakeholders to the project. This is benefiting the current work of the 2 partners on the Action Plan. Most notably, the event has been very useful in order to get two important national institutions (see above) involved in the project’s development and, to count on them to spread the possible and future outcomes of the project at a national level. This way, the impact of the project could attain higher levels and greater visibility in all the national institutions involved in gender issues.

Moreover, another result of this event was that a new stakeholder, representing the GP STEM TALENT GIRL participated in FEMINA Convention 3 in Norway, to present the GP and exchange with FEMINA partners.
