CMO STAMM hosted its third stakeholder meeting and the following were present:

Sterre Koops and Albert Haan - SNN

Nina Beswerda - Employers organization VNO – NCW - MKB Noord

Henk ten Brinke and Marja Janssen – CMOSTAMM.

The agenda consisted of the Dream- and final Action Plan, Media appearances, upcoming actions, and the next FEMINA Convention in Santander, Spain.

Dream- and final action plan

To start work with the dream action plan, CMO STAMM decided to start with a small group of stakeholders to start the initial work and then share the draft with the other stakeholders after the 4th FEMINA convention, seeing as the convention might provide more good ideas and inputs for the work.

In September, Henk participated in a conference on the invitation of SNN where the topic was an update of the smart specialization (RIS3) strategy for the period 2021-2027. The outcomes of the HESS (Higher Education for Smart Specialisation) project are used for new input of the RIS3 and recommendations for the new innovation-ecosystem. One workshop focused on “What can knowledge institutions contribute to the improvement of the cooperation between supply and demand on the labor market and especially to the improvement of human capital." Other FEMINA stakeholders were also present at the workshop and FEMINA was discussed informally between participants.

As a result of the discussion at the workshop, CMO STAMM received useful input for their work on their Action plan. CMO STAMM also highlighted that it is important to take diversity and equality into account when developing the agenda and program of the RIS3 strategy and that diversity should be a factor when granting future projects. The outcomes from the workshop should be clear around March 2020. Nina thinks that the outcomes should also be addressed at a meeting of the board of VNO – NCW. She will take action on this.

Albert says that from the economic boards in the three provinces a couple of areas are of specific importance for Groningen, and within these there is a great need of personnel and entrepreneurs:

- Issues due to earthquakes (restoration and enforcement)

- Sustainability

- Digitalization

Media

CMO STAMM will start a social media campaign on Instagram where they will portray a range of women studying or working in STEM.

Upcoming Actions

Nina is developing a training course for companies who want to improve their diversity. This is a good fit with the goals of the SNN board, as well as the actions being developed with the stakeholders and the GP Trainee South from Norway.

Advisory committee

The board of Human Capital SNN has asked to what extent women make use of the possibilities offered by SNN. Data has been collected, and it was concluded the proportions are quite skewed. There might be the possibility to develop a learning course for this purpose, together with the knowledge provided by stakeholder Dr. Rydolf.

Chamber of commerce

CMO STAMM is investigating how the Chamber of Commerce registers men and women.

SME Innovation Scan

SNN is going to work on the existing innovation scan for SMEs. It will be examined whether a quick change can be made by marking resources for Diversity course.
