The 5th Local Regional Stakeholders Group Meeting: ”Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic Crisis on Home Care Development Policy and Solutions” in Romania was organized online in Bucharest, Romania, on 23rd March, inside HoCare project in the framework of Interreg Europe’s 5th Call for proposals.
The main objective of this meeting was to collect information from Romania about a) the status of Home Care R&I and b) the status of quadruple-helix cooperation in R&I, especially in the context of COVID-19 pandemic.
The 53 invited participants were selected in order to ensure the presence of the four categories from the quadruple-helix cooperation in R&I in the Home Care domain: Citizens / users, Business, Research and Public institutions / Government. The event was structured into 5 main sections: 1. Interreg Europe HoCare project– presentation and additional activities required by the pandemic context; 2. A brief overview of current health and home care policies; 3. Innovative home care solutions in the pandemic context; 4. Exchange of experience on the impact of the pandemic crisis on the citizen / user of home care solutions; 5. Roundtable.
Eight good practices in the Home Care domain were presented and discussed. The drawn conclusions emphasized the fact that the impact of the pandemic will leave permanent marks on the current and future means of providing Home Care services and that new measures and improved legal framework are compulsory to be taken.
