Lead partner of HoCare project Nicosia Development Agency participated in two different workshops in Brussels on 10th October 2017, organized in the framework of the European Week of Regions and Cities by the Policy Learning Platform (PLP) and the Interreg Europe JS.

The titles of the seminars were as follows:

  1. Explore good practices with the Interreg Europe Policy Learning Platform (PLP)
  2. Interreg Europe: 'Transforming learning into actions' (JS)

HoCare project was the highlight of both events since we had been requested by both organizers to present our project’s developments as an example of a successful project that reaches tangible results. In the first workshop general information about HoCare project was presented to the participants as well as one of our good practices (Tele-Hippocrates). In the second workshop, our project’s approach was presented to the participants in regards to the exchange of experience up to this point.

In addition, as a side activity, the LP was invited by the PLP and JS to be interviewed for a video that is prepared by the Program about ‘success stories’ of Interreg Europe projects’ implementation. The video will be published on the official website of the Interreg Europe program. These stories will be promoted through a specific one-hour online discussion 'Stories of the regions' to be organized on 27 October 2017 at 10am by the JS (more information at: https://www.interregeurope.eu/policylearning/news/1808/hear-stories-of-the-regions/). Participation is open to any interested person or organization.

During the PLP’s workshop, the new online GPs database platform was introduced to the public. Once again the HoCare project was on the main screen, since during the presentation of the GPs database, one of our project’s GPs was presented as an example on how to fill in the online template. The GPs database may be found at the following link: https://www.interregeurope.eu/policylearning/good-practices/. Our GP presented on the screen may be found at: https://www.interregeurope.eu/policylearning/good-practices/item/7/telehippocrates-unified-telemedicine-network-with-integrated-broadband-satellite-land-networks/

Next week the lead partner will also participate in the “Joint event on research & innovation and SME competitiveness” organized in Milan by the Policy Learning Platform. HoCare will be presented as an example to illustrate and discuss the challenges associated with the interlinked themes of fostering the take up of R&D results for the benefit of our regions and how to make the most out synergies with central managed programs.
