he MANUMIX Interreg Europe project is focused on analysing the combination of innovation policies for advanced manufacturing in European regions, with the aim of strengthening and improving efficiency in the advanced manufacturing industry.

The project provides the opportunity to compare and exchange experiences about systems for monitoring and evaluating advanced manufacturing policies in certain European regions that have selected this area as one of the priorities of the RIS3 Intelligent Specialisation Strategy.

This second meeting, which will be attended by representatives of the member regions - Lithuania, the Basque Country, Wales and Piedmont - will be focused on evaluating decision-making processes and optimising measures to support advanced manufacturing in its different levels of decision-making and management.

During the two days of meetings and discussions, a study visit will be made to several important manufacturing companies in Piedmont. This visit will be organised in collaboration with Polo Mesap (intelligent products and manufacturing). More precisely, on 21 November the Basque, Lithuanian and Welsh members will be able to visit Prima Industrie, the European leader in laser systems for industrial applications, industrial sheets and electronics and laser sources, as well as IRIS, an innovative PMI specialising in the transfer of technology and development of innovative laser and plasma technology applications, and SPEA, a leader in electronic trial systems.

The meeting will be an opportunity to exchange experiences and enrich regional policies for advanced manufacturing systems. It will provide the group with a general overview of industry in Piedmont, promoting meetings with both large industrial companies and exemplary small and medium enterprises.

The MANUMIX Interreg Europe project is financed by the Interreg Europe programme for inter-regional co-operation, co-financed by the European Fund for Regional Development (FEDER 2014-2020).
