The COVID-19 crisis has hit the artistic and CCIs sectors particularly hard. It is now even more important to contribute to the recovery resilience of these sectors and to reinforce cross-sectoral cooperation with a focus on creativity and innovation.

In the scope of the RegionArts project, Porto Design Factory, PGH of P.Porto recently held online and, simultaneously, in Porto and Vila Verde the “ICT meets the ARTS” event that explored the multifaceted contributions that the merger of ICT and the Arts can deliver to foster competitiveness and innovation in SMEs.

An initiative with the support of PORTIC - Porto Research, Technology & Innovation Center and the Casa do Conhecimento - Municipality of Vila Verde, and with the contribution of the North Portugal Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDR-N), Fundação da Juventude, the Portuguese Business Association (AEP), the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE), UPTEC, Braga Media Arts, GNRation and the Atlantic Youth Creative Hubs from Santo Tirso. Moderated by the Director of Porto Canal, Júlio Magalhães, it involved a very diverse panel of speakers.

The event created a unique space for building collaborative networks, matchmaking artists and SMEs, and showcasing innovative initiatives such as MUARTS, Music Seeds, NU BOYANA FX, Bienal Internacional de Arte Jovem de Vila Verde, Bruna Sousa - computational designer based at Cru Cowork, Digitópia, Canal 180, among others.
