The meeting was organized by the Andalusian Energy Agency of the Ministry of Presidency, Public Administration and Interior, Finance and European Funding with the collaboration of the Andalusian Institute of Home Automation and Energy Efficiency of the University of Malaga, in Andalusia, as well as a total of 9 European partners from the 5 participating regions of Andalusia, with energy agencies and responsible of energy management in Friuli Venezia Giulia – lead partner - in Italy, South Karelia in Finland, the Municipality of Bielsko-Biala in Poland and ALEA in Romania, as well as the Universities of Udine, Trieste, and Lappeenranta.
The purpose of the meeting for experts from Andalusian university campuses, as well as public and private entities, research centers, technology corporations and user associations, was to promote the results of the project and the potentialities and actions carried out in Andalusia.
The Andalusian Energy Agency together with the project lead partner of the Italian region of Friuli Venezia Giulia explained the goal of the project, namely the improvement of energy efficiency and the promotion of renewable energies in university campuses, as well as the promotion of smart networks. To achieve these objectives, the project is using a common methodology of analysis of management and consumption data, monitoring of university campuses through a self-assessment tool developed during the project in accordance with European Directive 2018/844 energy performance of buildings, whose data are provided by all participating partners. One of the highlights of this European project is the broad participation of experts and stakeholders: energy managers from Andalusian university campuses are participating in this project, as well as experts from research centers and entities, public and private, who actively participate in all the phases of the project. Once the data from this self-assessment tool will be collected, the partnership will obtain Smart Readiness Indicators, European markers for comprehensive campus management that will provide insight into detailed energy management that can facilitate smart improvement actions in buildings.
Thanks to the meeting, the international experts were made aware of the energy situation in Andalusia, the actions carried out in collaboration with universities within the framework of the Redeja Program were explained.

The actions of recharging infrastructure, renewable energies and digitalization projects in the city of Malaga were presented to international partners. The experts presented the Smart Malaga, the Smart Coast of the Sun Project and the Pilot Plan of Smart Buildings applied to 218 buildings, 8 of the University of Malaga, as evidenced by this video: https://turismo.smartcostadelsol.es .
During the meeting, the public-private collaboration model of actions in collaboration with universities of the Andalusian Technological Corporation was explained.
The project partners were also informed about the actions of the micro-grid of the Energy Laboratory of the National Institute of Aerospace Technology.
