Last 19th January, 22 experts from the Andalusian Energy Agency of the Regional Ministry of the Presidence, the Public Administration and Interior, Ministry of Finance and European Financing, the Agency of Innovation and Development of Andalusia IDEA, the Agency of Knowledge, and the General Directorate of European Funds (regional authority) met online for the third S3UNICA Regional Stakeholder Meeting in Andalusian Region.

The event was divided in four sessions:

  • brief overview on the current status of the S3UNICA project.
  • The presentation of the survey concerning the Self Assessment Tool (SAT).
  • A round table of Presentations of Stakeholders members.
  • Next activities of the Project.

Joaquin Villar, Head of the Internationalisation and Prospective Department, opened the meeting explaining the commitment of the Andalusian Energy Agency to S3UNICA project, as well as the practical utility of using the on-going tools, encouraging the stakeholders to participate and adapt the project methodology and activities to their practical needs. Then, Francisco Guzman, Director of the Andalusian Institute of Domotics and Energy Efficiency IADEE, highlighted the importance of the surveys under the Assessment Tool and considering the idiosyncrasy of the Andalusian Universities participating as Stakeholders, mainly concerning the importance of photovoltaics energy and renewable energies.

Later, Salvador Merino, CEO of the Andalusian Institute of Domotics and Energy Efficiency, IADEE, partner of the project, explained the work developed with the SAT, a tool elaborated by Universities of Udine and Trieste (Italy) to measure the control systems of the university campuses buildings, using concrete data provided by the university managers. Starting from a total of four universities, in a second phase SAT will permit to choose buildings and will allow the utilization of the Smart Readiness Indicators as an European tool for certifying energy efficiency in all universities.

The third session, “Round Table of Presentations of Stakeholders members”, consisted in the presentation of the experts from the Regional Stakeholder Group, that discussed about the model with ENDESA-electricity company, Renewable energy, National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan (PNIEC) 2021-2030, pv and self-consumption, RES measures, the Technological Corporation of Andalusia (CTA), pv in municipality installations, through self-consumption with National Fund of the IDAE institute National Energy Agency, “Smart City”, Energy Efficiency Plan and management for the University, and the importance of European project as S3UNICA.

Finally, the Andalusian Energy Agency presented the activities for next period, including the next Exchange of Experience to be held at 27th of January organised by the Andalusian Energy Agency in collaboration with the Andalusian Institute of Domotics and Energy Efficiency with the Andalusian regional stakeholders, jointly the partners regions and the Model of Best Practices to be implemented by partners attending the meeting.

To conclude, the participation of the Regional Stakeholder has been very fluid and successful. The Regional Stakeholders agreed to keep on participating at following meetings on 27th January and depending on Covid-19 at the Campus Technical Visit where draft agenda was presented.

Main decisions/Findings

The main decision concerning this working meeting is explaining to the Andalusian’ Stakeholders Group the current status of the project, also the Self-Assessment Tool was presented by the Andalusian Institute of Domotics and Energy Efficiency, as well as all Andalusian universities explained their priorities and current activities during the project. During the project it was also presented the activities foreseen for the next months. The meeting consist of five sessions, an opening session of welcoming by both partners of the project and presenting the background of the project and the current advance, a Second Session presenting the advance on the self assessment tool, a third session a roundtable presenting the members, a fourth session focusing on next activities and a last session on conclusion. Here we are enclosing a summary concerning the main content of the above mentioned sessions.
