The Andalusia Action Plan consists of two actions which targets the implementation of energy efficiency measures and renewable energy sources in the framework of the Andalusian Energy Strategy 2020. The actions developed in the project will inspire and affect the Andalusian Energy Strategy 2030.

The first Action is Implementation of self-consumption at universities campuses through the establishment of a working group on public buildings at the Andalusian self-consumption round table in a public-private partnership.

It takes inspiration from the Green-reality Network in South Karelia, which brings together private and public actors in a platform for promoting innovative businesses and products.

The main objectives to be achieved are improving a self-consumption development framework, disseminating among potential users the viability of self-consumption facilities, facilitating the exchange from consumers to electricity prosumers, improving knowledge of the business sector linked with these activities.

This implies creating a Specific Working Group to promote the installation of photovoltaic and renewable energy infrastructure in the public building included in REDEJA: Andalusian Energy Management Network of the Andalusian Regional Government.

The activities foreseen to achieve this Action are: proposing to incorporate the Universities in the future line of action 10 and launching this informal proposal to the stakeholders and presenting it to the Andalusian Energy Strategy drafting team. Once approved, Universities can formally adhere to the Round Table of Self-consumption created by the Regional Government of Andalusia. All these activities will be monitored within the framework of the Andalusian Energy Strategy.

The second Action is the Development and improvement of innovative energy projects in university campuses and cities under the Energy Strategy of Andalusia 2030.

The action is inspired by the Virtual Power Plan of Lappeenranta and the first exchange of experiences of S3UNICA. The Andalusia 2030 Energy Strategy will be enriched of the lessons learned during the project and notably to include measures for the promotion of innovations in university buildings and infrastructure to enhance energy efficiency, the use of renewable energies and the creation of smart grids. Besides the introduction of these innovations, another goal of this Action is applying Self-Assessment Tools in universities by introducing the use of Smart Readiness Indicators as well as promoting awards for innovations and other disseminating instruments. To achieve these objectives, projects partners plan to create a network of experts among energy managers of university buildings, organise seminars and on-site visits to enhance exchange of information on technology offers, energy management and financial opportunities, and promote the establishment of a living-labs network in Andalusia.
