AREAL accepted the invitation from the University of the Algarve and participated in INCREaSE 2017 - the International Congress of Engineering and Sustainability in the XXI century, which took place from 11th to 13th October.
This event aimed to contribute to sustainable development in a multidisciplinary way, addressing transversal challenges, such as: Natural Risks, Tourism and Sustainability, Water and Society, Sustainable Mobility, Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency. INCREaSE 2017 gathered together researchers, technicians and experts in different engineering areas, such as Civil, Electronics and Mechanical engineering.
In this context, AREAL had the opportunity to promote energy sustainability in the Algarve region by sharing good practices and disseminating solutions whose results have been proving its success over the years. A clear example of this was the approach to the SET-UP project demonstrating the importance of developing specific regional competencies around the smart grids sector, seeking to identify effective energy management tools and improving regional policies.
