On December 6th, the Municipal Theater João Mota in Sesimbra (PT) hosted the National Meeting of Energy and Environment Agencies, under the theme "Territorial Cooperation: energy and environment agencies as promoters of projects with local communities" .
The main goal was to discuss and promote the role of Energy and Environment Agencies in the engagement of all community stakeholders, namely their role as a catalyst for the development, increased competitiveness and sustainability of the regions through the implementation of territorial cooperation projects.
The meeting highligthed the importance of local and global cooperation in the mitigation process and adaptation to climate change. In particular, it focused on the participation of Energy and Environment Agencies in Territorial Cooperation Projects and Community Programmes that encourage cooperation among local communities.
About 200 participants attended the event, including national and international speakers as well as representatives of several public and private institutions. The Regional Energy and Environment Agency of Algarve (AREAL), actively contributed to this joint discussion, in particular through the presentation of the Interreg Europe SET-UP project in which it is partner.
During the event, it was also possible to test electric vehicles, the plug-in of several brands and to explore other initiatives related to this topic.
