SHARE has been invited to speak during a policy learning event on sustainable mobility, planned for 21 November 2018 in Manchester, England. The day-long event will provide ideas and inspiration to policy makers, Interreg Europe project partners and others working to improve regional policies in the field of energy efficiency and resource efficiency.
Two good practices will be presented. The first is Umbria Region's integrated transportation ticket, the Umbria Go Card, a single ticket which allows holders to use all kinds of public transit throughout the region, including city and regional buses, Perugia's MiniMetrò, regional trains, Lake Trasimeno ferries, and even the Orvieto Funicular. The ticket, introduced at the end of 2017, is the first of its kind in Italy. Andy Fryers, an expert on sustainability and consultant to Lead Partner Sviluppumbria, presented the good practice.
The second, presented by Chiara Dall'Aglio, is the St. Francis Way. With 270 km of trails centred on Assisi, it provides hikers and pilgrims wth a slow tourism route, steeped in natural beauty, cultural attractions and authentic experiences. The entire Way runs between the Franciscan sanctuary in La Verna (Tuscany) and St. Peter's Basilica in Rome.
