In February, the regional energy agency for Southeast Sweden organized an online workshop and webinar for the public property managers in the region. At the workshop, the property managers agreed upon the importance of implementing a digital strategy for buildings where energy monitoring is one important part. To introduce energy data collection by manual methods is not only time consuming but depends on a lot of personal efforts. The participants at the meeting agreed upon the urgent need to start the digital process. Another important finding was that there is a large need of knowledge transfer between the municipalities and a first step will be to map the different energy monitoring systems used in the region.
Due to the pandemic circumstances the workshop and the technical study visit was performed online. One of the regional municipalities is forerunner and demonstrated by a virtual study tour their brand-new digital energy monitoring system. The digital solution for the study tour was straight forward and clearly demonstrated that some meetings and some actions can be done virtual with a very good result.
Next step will be deeper discussions on hand on solutions of how to create economic models to improve property value by energy efficiency. Two expert are invited to speak at the next workshop.
