Malopolska Region organised the policy awareness event on 19th September 2018 in Cracow as a part of an International Conference “The Circular Economy - Rational Use of Raw Materials” in cooperation with the Mineral and Energy Economy Research Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
The purpose of this conference was to exchange knowledge and experience on effective methods of management in accordance with the rules of the circular economy and their future directions. On 19th of September the discussion focused on implementation of the circular economy: new business models, education, CE indicators, eco-innovation, economic symbiosis and the use of new IT tools. In the framework of this conference there was plenary session: The circular economy and economic symbiosis –the SYMBI project of the Marshal’s Office of the Lesser Poland Voivodship. During this session the objectives of the SYMBI project were presented together with the example of industrial symbiosis of Maspex Group, stakeholder of the project. The results of the SYMBI project were introduced to scientists and representatives of private sector and was raised for discussion later on. The subject of the project met with high interest among the conference participants.
