The Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has been implementing the regional action plan (RAP) and its action according to the timeline. The Regional Action Plan is composed of four actions, namely:
1. Setting up a systemic approach at supporting the industrial symbiosis process
2. Support at setting up the secondary raw material market
3. Setting up appropriate financial incentives when introducing the industrial symbiosis
4. Industrial symbiosis as a mechanism for better spatial planning
Within action 1 we are implementing the pilot action, which main goal is to set the basis for systemic approach for industrial symbiosis. So far, we have carried out the first workshop, which aim was to introduce the concept of industrial symbiosis and its multidimensional benefits. We carried out three lectures on circular economy for regional development agencies with the aim to promote the industrial symbiosis and circular economy. In order to achieve goals within action 2, we had regular meetings with relevant stakeholders, namely Ministry of economic development and technology and Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Within action 3, we significantly contributed to drafting the green voucher (which is prepared and it is expected to be launched in the first half of 2020), where around 0,5 mio EUR of ERDF will be available for companies. Within action 4, we had a meeting with the Urban planning Institute of the Republic of Slovenia and the Public Agency for Entrepreneurship, Internationalization, Foreign Investments and Technology (SPIRIT) on how to improve the industrial zones management.
In the following semesters, we will continue working on RAP implementation and particularly to carry out the pilot action.
