In the past year the focus of TRINNO Project stayed to promote competitiveness in EU regions through improving policy instruments for business support systems that focus on the application of digital innovation in the local economy. This has been addressed through interregional exchange (workshops, study visits and staff exchanges) and stakeholder engagement in 5 regions (Tuscany, Catalonia, North West Ireland, Csongrád County and Heart of Slovenia). As a result of this exchange, partners will prepare and implement an Action Plan to improve their individual policy measures. Business support, link between traditional and local economy, and digital innovation stayed the sub objective of partners’ activity. In TRINNO the digital innovation concept is linked to the business ecosystem one: the focus is on the policy framework in which effective digital innovation support services can be offered.
The important part of year 2017 were two interregional events in Arezzo and Szeged, where the last one was also formed as a First Mid Term Event. The Third Interregional Learning Event, organised in Arezzo and Florence (Italy), was formed as a presentation of Tuscan good practices in the field of business support ecosystems that link digital innovation to the local economy. Actors from different sectors participated at the event: local authorities, universities and research institutions, enterprise support actors and enterprises. First Mid-Term Phase Event and Fourth Interregional Learning Event in Szeged, Csongrád County in Hungary reflected the upgraded pace of the Project from collecting and presenting »Business support ecosystem report« to digital innovation concept which is linked to the business ecosystem one, but also to the policy framework in which effective digital innovation support services can be offered.
The upcoming months in 2018 will present crucial part of TRINNO Project. Projects’ consortium will follow the work flow on Action Plan development and Staff exchanges. Partners will also gather for Fifth Interregional Learning Event in Slovenia. All the activities will take place in conjunction with stakeholder groups from all partner regions.
