Great success for the first public event of the MATCH-UP project in all our partner regions and cities. Timisoara, Funchal, the County of Northeim and the Southern Regional Assembly hold their first local public event launching their call for interest for local stakeholders. The events were a great success with more than 150 attendees in total. Very different stakeholders attended the meeting from public authorities to the private sector and the civil society. The event served as a local kick off to present the MATCH-UP project, namely its goals, purpose and the potential contributions in addressing the mobility issues at local scale. Considering the importance of public transport in shifting modal split towards soft modes whilst promoting intermodality, some of the innovative solutions and good practices were also presented in the different partners. External speakers and experts have also been invited to discuss the topic of low carbon economy, sustainable urban mobility plan and intermodality. These events set up the basis for the collaboration with local stakeholders that is one of the main objective of the overall MATCH-UP project.
