Emprenbit was created to boost competitiveness in the Balearic Islands' business network by helping companies to implement their ideas, focusing on new business
The Emprenbit programme provides different facilities and services to support entrepreneurs with innovative ideas. Its services focus on helping entrepreneurs define and validate their business models as well as offer inexpensive office space.
Fundació Bit is the organisation responsible for the implementation of Govern de les Illes Balears R&D strategies and it also manages ParcBit and Centre Bit, providing support and innovation services to SMEs and entrepreneurs. Emprenbit is the program dedicated to foster entrepreneurship and promote the creation of technology and knowledge based companies.

Emprenbit has more than 3.000 square meters between coworking spaces and private offices in Mallorca and Menorca devoted to start-ups, where they can benefit from assessment, training and monitoring services. The incubator hosts startups in the industries of ICT, tourism, biotechnology, energy, culture and creative industries.

The Emprenbit team consists of five FTE experts, assisted by external coaches and trainers. Core expertise of the team is focused on business support, incubation, innovation management, project development, communications, etc.
In 2019, Emprenbit received 64 enquiries from potential entrepreneurs, 32 of which matched the criteria to received support and 21 ended up registering a business. Since 2012, the program has supported more than 350 entrepreneurs and created over 150 enterprises.

Resources needed

The budget of the program in 2020 is 350.000€ approximately, aimed at developing programs and activites that promote the creation of innovative companies and foster the technology-based entrepreneurial spirit in the Balearic Islands.
