The first ecological public utility building in Łódź using rainwater from the roof and the hardened area surrounding the building for irrigation of green areas.
Rainwater from the roof of the building is purified on filter I and collected in a concrete tank with a capacity of about 200 m 3. The collected rainwater is used to water the green areas around the building. The facility was the first in Poland to be equipped with an x-press 50 type rainwater control unit. The control unit is located on a console in the boiler room, while the pumps supplying the greenery watering system are located in a concrete well. In case of lack of rainwater, the system is supplied with emergency tap water. The control panel monitors the pressure level in the system and in case of opening the solenoid valves before sprinklers, it starts one or two pumps, depending on the current water consumption.

Resources needed

The total area of the building is 852 sq. m, the cubic capacity of the building is 8 887 cubic m, and the usable area is 2 632 sq. m.
Rainwater falling from the roof of the building is purified on filter I and collected in a concrete tank with a capacity of about 200 m 3

Evidence of success

The new, ecological headquarters of WFOŚiGW is located in Łódź at 118 Dubois Street. Green building is a strategic step towards sustainable development. Thanks to modern technologies, the building uses less energy and water, is more comfortable, healthier and better serves its users, protecting them from rising energy and water prices. Green solutions are not only a confirmation of investors' social responsibility, but above all of the sustainable quality of the buildings themselves.
