Public and private sector and households should have a central point to get information, advice and knowledge about sustainable energy.
ENERGAP has a vast amount of experience providing services as an informational,educational and advisory centre.It has developed a wide and bespoke range of educational and promotional materials such as:workshop presentations,leaflets,best practices guides, webpages, games,animations, puppet-shows, solar-powered models of cars, windmills,CO2 cubes,passive house models and electricity producing bicycle model.Our target groups are:preschool children and pupils, students, teachers, headmasters, kitchen and cleaning staff, janitors, etc.Themes are:climate changes, energy efficiency,renewable energy sources,sustainable mobility,ISOstandards, energy planning for public and private sector,best practice exchanges, and thematic guidelines (refurbishing, certificates, financing, savings).Teachers can get the support with the various materials, our staff organize the energy days with different activities.The headmasters can order the workshop and on-site training for kitchen or cleaning staff.ENERGAP performs advisory services for households,municipalities, companies via phone, mails/at the site.We have counseling’s for households and municipalities for energy refurbishment of old buildings(planning, financing and implementing).We cooperate regularly with journalists and prepare articles for local, national and international newspapers and expert’s newsletters.At least once a year ENERGAP presents the reports about implementing local energy plans in different municipalities in the region

Evidence of success

ENERGAP is a nationally known educational, informational and advisory centre with a lot of materials and tools, serving 15 municipalities and 300 households advice per year. It is the only centre to offer the educational tools that is approached from kindergartens, primary, secondary schools and faculties. With ENERGAPs active work in the City of Maribor, the use of heating oil has dropped for more than 70%, the energy use in schools and kindergartens has dropped for 37,7% in last 10 years.

Difficulties encountered

Continuous educational and informational activities are needed to build a knowledge and a trust of different target groups. Permanent “One stop shop” and advice give results on long term in energy savings and use of renewables. Such need for investment pay off quickly in terms of benefits.
