The Ministry of Infrastructure is preparing the Energy Concept of Slovenia. It is a strategic document that will reach a wide spectrum of stakeholders - active participants in the energy sector or consumers in the form of industry or citizens. In this way, they want to provide a discussion on the guidelines and the participation of the general public. The document will provide guidelines for various areas of energy policy by 2030 and 2050.
The overarching objective of the concept is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with energy use by at least 40% by 2030 and, at least 80% by 2050, compared to 1990 levels.
The fundamental purpose of energy policy is to ensure sustainable energy management, and this framework will, in particular, identify three aspects of sustainability - climate acceptance, security of supply and competitiveness.
They will strive for the transition of Slovenia into a low-carbon society and a reduction in dependence on imports and use of fossil fuels.
