The General Director of the Asturian Energy Foundation (FAEN), Juan Carlos Aguilera, held a meeting on Wednesday 14 October 2020 with the MEP Nicolás González Casares with the aim of highlighting the industrial chain associated with the energy sector, marine renewable energies in Asturias and the transfer of their main needs to them so that they are taken into account in the new Industrial Strategy for Europe and their associated documents.

The Strategy proposes that the European industry aligns itself with the transitions towards climate neutrality and digital leadership in a way that becomes an accelerator and engine of change and innovation. During the meeting there was an exhibition of the Clipper Project, in which FAEN is a partner, presenting both its results and the activities that it will carry out during 2020-2021. In addition, the particular situation of Asturias in the face of the Just Energy Transition was detailed. FAEN now hopes that marine energy will play an important role in the new regional energy model and that it will attract more industrial activity in Asturias.
