SMARTcup Liguria (www.smartcupliguria.it) is the Ligurian competition for entrepreneurial ideas with high technological content, promoted by Liguria Region and organised by FILSE SpA* in collaboration with the University of Genoa and several private companies and research centres.
The aim of the competition is to promote and support the launch of innovative ideas favouring the establishment of new companies on the regional territory.
Who can participate?
Researchers, start-ups and aspiring entrepreneurs, interested in creating or developing their own business idea in the following areas: Life sciences, ICT, Cleantech & Energy or Industrial.
Participation involves the drawing up of a business plan that describes the objectives and methods of the business idea.
Applicants will be accompanied in the process of creating the business plan by tutors, mentors and business angels throughout the duration of the initiative.
The winners will receive support for starting the company in terms of training, marketing and specialist advice.
Finally, winners will compete in the final of the National Award for Innovation (Premio nazionale per l'Innovazione), which this year will take place in Verona (29-30 November).
*FILSE SpA is the in-house Financial Institution of Liguria Region. It manages a Regional Public Network of Incubators, providing an extensive set of integrated innovative incubation services, which includes housing, tutoring, coaching, business planning, technology links and internationalisation support.
