REGGIO CALABRIA - RESTARTS THE BIKE SHARING WITH MANY NEW FEATURES FOR FAMILIES AND STUDENTS

City municipality of Reggio Calabria improve the bike sharing service

 

It is being defined the process of entrusting the service "Bike sharing" of the Municipality of Reggio Calabria. Citizens will be able to return to take advantage of new pedal-assisted bicycles and muscle, stopped in the pits after the first step experimental and refinement of procedures for the relaunch of one of the most popular activities by Reggio.

There are many new features, starting with the maintenance that will be totally entrusted to the manager through a specific plan focused on the care of the entire park bicycles and individual stations with tests of all the columns. It will be strengthened the control of parking areas already equipped with special video monitoring systems.

New tariffs will be applied to further increase the user base and periodic promotional days will be scheduled. The "Chiama bici" service will also be active, i.e., the possibility of booking a two-wheeled vehicle from a distance.

The program provides for the involvement of businesses, hotels and B&Bs that, adhering to the initiative or promoting ciclotour among the tourist and cultural heritage of the city, can count on special agreements and become a point of resale for subscriptions. Fundamental, even in this circumstance, was the collaboration with the departments of Productive Activities and Tourism. There is also the use of "promocode" for special occasions and conditions such as, for example, for Atam subscribers who will receive 50% discounts from June to October on any type of subscription. The same will apply to university students who, thanks to the promotional code, will pay half of the service for the period April-July. The "Trenitalia-Reggio in Bici" promotion will also be activated, as part of the commercial agreement between "Bicincittà Italia" and Trenitalia, which provides for a 20% discount for regional subscribers to the company that manages passenger rail transport.

To reinforce the incentive of a more sustainable mobility, there is also the project of the Municipality, just approved by the Ministry of Environment, which allocates almost 400 thousand euros just for the development of Sharing Mobility (Primus) in urban areas. An important initiative to relaunch sustainable mobility in the region.
