Regional actions to sustain a sustainable development of mobility

The Lombardy Region has decided to continue investing in rail transport by approving three amendments that will help Ferrovienord optimise its lines and introduce green and sustainable means of transport. In detail, fundamental interventions will be financed to intervene on the infrastructure of the Ferrovienord network, where a strong focus (with 29 million to be spent) will be on the construction of infrastructure necessary for hydrogen trains on the Brescia-Iseo-Edolo line. The first hydrogen trains will be operating on Italian territory from 2023 thanks to the project called H2iseO, which will lead to the purchase of hydrogen-powered vehicles to be used on the Brescia-Iseo-Edolo line. The funds allocated by the Lombardy Region are a new incentive for the development of sustainable mobility on the territory. The Province of Brescia has once again shown itself to be attentive and ready to continue along the path of sustainable development.
