On April 9 2019, Regione Calabria held the first project workshop with regional stakeholders.. The event was attended by more than 20 participants among public authorities, local agency, private sector involved in e-mobility issues. Different topics were presented and discussed during the day.
The Responsible of Transport and Mobility Department of the Region and partner of the project, Valeria Scopelliti kicked of the meeting presenting e-MOPOLI project and how it is inserted in the Regional policies and strategies on sustainable mobility and energy efficiency.
The discussion, among participants, continued on EU air quality directive and its implementation in regional environment and mobility policies, regional state of art of e-mobility and charging infrastructure, need and expectations about the promotion of e-mobility in the Region and possible recommendations to policy makers. In as specific way, responsible of Public Works, Giuseppe Iiritano, illustrated the regional activities in the field of instrastructure for public mobility and sweet mobility, using structural funds.
Useful tips, derived from stakeholder’s discussion, were included in the first draft of regional swot analysis and recommendations for the diffusion of alternative fuels and e-mobility in the Region, which are: the obligation to have common standard and interoperability in charging systems to encourage private sectors (i.e. shopping centres, hotels…) to install FAST charging stations in private areas with public access; the need to reduce the use of private traditional cars in urban areas; modernization of local public transport fleets (i.e. <CO2 emissions, alternative fuels vehicles) and the promotion of electric cars and installation of charging stations with targeted marketing actions on-call public services (i.e. buses) and soft e-mobility options (e-bike, scooters).
Stakeholders were interested in creating a permanent net among participants. Everyone gave a big help to create recommendations thought an interactive method in work.
