Last month (March 2020) Flemish Government exceeded the threshold of 4.000 public charging points in Flanders, which was also remarked by the press. Additionally, the number of public charging points is now declared as an official statistic by the Flemish statistic agency.

On the first January of 2020 there were already 3.814 public charging points for electric cars in Flanders, of which 82 fast charging points (> 22 kW) and 8 ultrafast charging points of 350 kW. Only three out of the 300 Flemish municipalities do not have a public charging point yet. You can find the location of the charging points on https://www.milieuvriendelijkevoertuigen.be/laadpalen. On average, there are now 12 electric cars per public charging point.

This is a good ratio, taking into account the large charge of plug-ins and the opportunities in Flanders for charging privately and at work.
