[NEWS] More fast chargers along Flemish motorways
More fast chargers along Flemish motorways coming up soon: 28 new locations have been selected to install the infrastructure for fast charging.
The Flemish minister of Mobility, Lydia Peeters, is investing an extra 468.000€ to roll out fast charging infrastructure for electric vehicles at 28 new locations along the Flemish motorways. This mainly concerns carpool parkings and park-and-rides managed by the Flemish Region.
This extra fast charging capacity along motorways will give people the opportunity to charge on the road and to drive electrically over a longer distance. To realize this fast charging infrastructure, 468.000 euros will be released as subsidies.
28 new locations have been selected to install the infrastructure for fast charging. Of these locations, 11 locations will receive a higher subsidy amount of up to 24.000€ because they are considered to be a priority. These are locations that are important for realizing a well-covered network of charging points along motorways or because they are located along the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T). The other 17 locations will be supported with a subsidy of up to 12.000€ and will ensure that there is a charging point every 50 km along the major traffic axes.
