The Start Cup Piemonte Valle d’Aosta is a competition that aims to support and stimulate the birth of highly innovative companies, to promote local economic development.
The 2019 edition of the Start Cup Piemonte Valle d’Aosta got to its final act on October 29th, when the ten finalists challenged each other to win the award for the most innovative project in the fields of Cleantech & Energy, Industrial, ICT, Life Sciences, Turism e Cultural and Creative Industry. The finalists were selected from the 134 business plan presented, which had been beforehand chosen among 194 start ups applications, with a participation rate increased of 60% compared to last year edition.
The winning project was Clearbox: this company aims at developing Artificial Intelligence solutions, still keeping the human control as a fundamental factor. This synergy is the key to fully exploit the power of AI.
Enermove was the second best: it develops wireless moving recharge systems for electric industrial trucks for the logistics industry and mass distribution.
Usophy got the third place: it is a platform where, for a monthly fee, the user can access college and academic textbooks.
The total amount of prize money awarded was of 60,000 euros, including awards, honorable mentions and special prizes. Moreover the six top finishers gained access to PNI 2019, the National Prize for Innovation, which will take place at the end of November and will be contended by the winners of the seventeen regional start cups.
