On March 29th Research, higher education and innovation monitoring and analysis center (MOSTA) has organized training on the implementation and development of the LEAN method in the innovation ecosystem. Eco-system development expert Domen Bole, who has been specializing in the issues of the development of innovation ecosystems in south-eastern European countries for the past ten years, has revealed the benefits of implementing LEAN approach into innovation ecosystem development.

The expert reviewed the strengths and weaknesses of innovation policy in Europe and Lithuania. According to the Global Innovation Index, Lithuania is ranked 40th in the world, so there is indeed room for improvement. According to the expert, LEAN system could make innovation eco-system work more effectively and help overcome main challenges.

"The consistent implementation of the LEAN principles recognizes undeniable and measurable benefits and therefore, we can really expect better results in applying the principles of LEAN in innovation policy," said Bole, sharing the examples of good practice in using LEAN, and explaining the specificities of LEAN at the regional level.

The seminar was attended by representatives from the Science, Innovation and Technology Agency, the Ministry of Education and Science, technology parks and universities.

MOSTA workshop is part of the INKREASE project. The aim of this project is to improve the innovation capacity of the regions involved. The main objective is to integrate tools and measures into different partners' regional strategies that increase the efficiency of various innovative ecosystems, strengthen research and business cooperation and commercialization of research results.
