On the 5th of April 2021, NECCA in cooperation with the Agricultural University of Athens organized the second on-line information day for the INVALIS project in Greece. The project, its progress, outcomes and the lessons learnt up to now through the exchange of experience at European and national level were presented to professors and students of various courses related to environmental protection. The event was attended by 27 participants and lasted for 2 hours. The presentations were followed by a fruitful discussion on the management of invasive alien species, the emerging conflicts of interest and especially the lack of public awareness, including the role that the scientific community can play in addressing this problem. The contribution of the INVALIS project in this area, as well as in the establishment of a network of stakeholders for IAS management, was highlighted. The participants of the information day were encouraged in taking part in project activities.
