Once again, two representatives (Carla Pires and Célia Correia) of the Vila Nova de Gaia municipality, LOCARBO partner, attended the Climate Change Leadership annual event in Porto, on the 7th of March.

This was the second edition of the Climate Change Leadership Porto summit event, dedicated to providing practical and proven solutions to help the wine industry mitigate the impacts of a changing climate, and to work on developing a safer and more sustainable future.

The Nobel Laureate and former US Vice-President Al Gore was the most awaited intervention of this edition, but the success of this global event  was also guaranteed by other internationally renowned speakers such as Afroz Shah (LLM Gold Medallist,Counsel, Bombay High Court), Ester Asin (European Director of WWF International),  Kaj Török (Chief Sustainability Officer at MAX Burgers, the World’s First Climate-Positive Burgers), and João Matos Fernandes (Portuguese Minister of the Environment and Energy Transition).

Continuing with the development of the 2018 Porto Protocol, this year's Porto Climate Change Leadership Summit event aimed at promoting the commitment assumed by companies and organizations to improve their environmental impact, and to reinforce the engagement tool to include new members.
