The Southern Regional Assembly is proud of the impact the MATCH-UP project continues to make in Ireland. It is amazing that inspiration from our interregional partners good practices led to 2 policy improvements in the Southern & Eastern Regional Operational Programme 2014-2020, the Regional Spatial & Economic Strategy 2020 for Southern Ireland. These improvements were formally acknowledged one year ago but now one more policy change is going to be formailzed: it affects the National Sustainable Mobility Policy for Ireland.
This project has surpassed all our expectations as to the impact 1 Interreg Europe project could make in enhancing the lives of our citizens through the MATCH-UP 10 Minute Town Framework. This framework prioritises active travel and the creation of 10 Minute Towns which ensures citizens can reach work, education, healthcare, leisure, green spaces and retail within a 10 minute walk/cycle or public transport journey from their home
