On May 22, 2019, a specialist seminar will be held in Göttingen, focusing on new flexible forms of transportation in rural areas. Organizer is the regional public transport authority of South Lower Saxony (ZVSN), one of the stakeholders in the Interreg project "Match Up" of the county of Northeim. Whereas in the past the focus of the public transport operator was almost exclusively on the organization of bus services in the districts, other tasks have been gaining in importance for some time in order to make public transport more attractive to users. In particular, the linking of the various modes of transport or actors in the field of environmentally friendly mobility and the information on the existing or newly added mobility offers and forms are part of this. The event will discuss the results of the research project "EcoBus" as well as other current developments and best practice examples in Lower Saxony and at federal level. The seminar will involve players from all sectors, such as politics, administration, public transport, science and the taxi industry. Among other things, issues of passenger use, economic viability, legal considerations and interactions with other modes of transport will be discussed.
