Because of the P2L2 Project, Podkarpackie has learned of the need to expand the stakeholders' involvement in the EDP process and their focus on advanced materials. This applies not only within the smart specialization of aviation and astronautics but also in the automotive and quality of life smart specializations.
As a result of the implementation of the Action Plan on 12 June 2019, an Advanced Materials Working Group was established within the Aviation and Aeronautics Panel. The aim of this group is to develop potential project proposals in the field of advanced materials that can be submitted, for example, in national and regional operational programs or apply for co-financing from other sources, including those from EU funds. The working group is open to representatives of Podkarpackie smart specializations.
A second meeting of the Advanced Materials Working Group was organized in Rzeszów on 19 September 2019. This productive meeting included the participation of Mr Władysław Ortyl - Marshall of the Podkarpackie Region, representatives of government institutions like the Polish Aviation Institute and the Industry Development Agency, as well as representatives of most active regional aviation SME's. The aim of this meeting was the establishment of a company dedicated to ventures in the aviation sector operating in the Podkarpackie Region by entities representing SMEs, the Industry Development Agency and the Łukasiewicz Research Network - Institute of Aviation.
The first objective of this joint company will be a project called Aviation Laboratory, financed under the Regional Operational Program of the Podkarpackie Region for the years 2014 to 2020.
