18 April is the International Day for Monuments and Sites, promoted by ICOMOS, established to celebrate and recognise the importance of heritage properties in the lives of residents and visitors, and as a focus of identity for different populations. This year’s theme is Shared Cultures, Shared Heritage, Shared Responsibility

The fundamental role of cultural heritage is a cornerstone of our project, and of our work to improve policies to balance the priorities of safeguarding and promoting tangible and intangible heritage.

In addition to exploring sites virtually through the ICOMOS website, why not visit some of the cultural heritage profiled by SHARE:

Braunstein Palace, Iași

Città di Castello, Umbria

Cathedral of St. James, Šibenik

Towns of the North-East Region

The CAOS complex, Terni

Vadstena Castle

Cella Septichora, Pécs
