They were joined by Grand Lyon Métropole, Lyon’s Local Energy and Climate Agency, Grenoble Alpes Métropole, Biomass-energy community FORESTENER, French local authorities’ network for energy transition, waste and water management AMORCE and a representative from the Auvergne-Rhôn-Alpes’ Regional Council. Together, and with additional participation from KAIROS RES Consulting, The Energy and Environment Services Federation and Clermont Auvergne Métropole, they constitute SHREC’s workgroup.
The Regional objective is to develop citizens’ participation and investment in the development of District Heating RES. A number of these initiatives are already operational, which allow us to explore solutions to the technical, legal and financial barriers they have encountered and find ways to scale up similar projects. They will be showcased at regional level through feedback sheets very soon!
There are many opportunities for SHREC to get involved in the months to come. To quote a couple: Grand Lyon Métropole is working with 65 projects integrating RES into their district networks and the Regional Council of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes is looking forward to working with us to enhance their RES thermal schemes. Stay put for more to come!
