Among the many unprecedented impacts of the current pandemic of the coronavirus, COVID-19, municipal waste management practices and procedures appear to gain more concerns as time passes by.
After receiving this request from its members, the SMART WASTE advisory partner ACR+ started gathering data on the different systems and solutions regarding waste management challenges implemented across Europe. The aim is not to build an extensive database but rather to provide interesting insight on the role local and regional authorities play to reshape and adapt municipal waste management current constraints, knowing that the situations are diverse and depend on the national and local constraints as well as the means available.
