As a partner of SUPER, TEI of Western Macedonia, organized a seminar entitled "Actions of cooperation between research institutions and enterprises in exported products with eco-innovation features", hosted at the Kozani Municipal Library, 12 February 2019.

The event started at 16:00 with a technical meeting of the stakeholders where the Action Plan was presented and the next steps of the Phase 2 of the project were discussed. 

The main event started at 17:00, as planned and coordinated by Assistant Professor of TEIWM Dr. Dimitrios Stimoniaris. At the beginning the Mayor of Kozani, Mr. Eleftherios Ioannidis, gave a short speech congratulating the participants of the SUPER program and was followed by the vice-rector of TEIWM, Dr. Stergios Maropoulos. The program continued with the planned presentations of invited speakers, focusing on Western Macedonia businesses and the internationalization of their products with ecological characteristics.

Specifically, the first speaker, Mr. Athanasios Bagatzounis, Managing Director of "Marcos Bagatzounis and Sons", talked about the sustainable exploitation of the residuals of domestic aromatic plants in the production of animal feed. Next speaker was Mr. Nikolaos Malinis of “Herbs and Oils”, who analyzed the opportunities and threats of the penetration of aromatic medicinal plants and essential oils into the world market. 

The presentation of business representatives was concluded by Mr. Konstantinos Nikou, representative of ALPHA Estate, on the subject entitled "The next modern tools for processing".

Finally, the last two presentations were on the support of the internationalization and application of eco-innovation in products of Western Macedonia, by the Associate Professor of TEIWM, Dr. Dimitrios Tsiamitros and the Regional Action Plan for Western Macedonia from SUPER, which aims to improve the integration of Environmentally Sustainable Innovation (ESIs) by Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), by Mr. Konstantinos Karamarkos, Urban and Regional Development.
